Shriya goes nude?

Rumour mills are working overtime suggesting that Shriya Saran, the actress with looks and substance, would appear nude in a Bengali film by Rituporno Ghosh in which she is playing the role of a commercial sex worker.
 
"Shriya was initially reluctant when the director wanted her to do the bold act for a particular scene. However, after thinking for a while, she accepted the idea understanding the importance of the scene," reports say.
 
It is said that the scene would be shot in an artistic way and there would be nothing vulgar in it. In fact, it would bring out the actress in Shriya and the extent she could go for the love she has on her profession.
 
However, there is nothing so far official about it and it is expected that Shriya would clear the air soon. The actress was last seen in Tamil in 'Rowthiram', the Jiiva-starrer, in which she played a chirpy role.

No marriage for now: Reemma

Reemma has reiterated that she had no immediate plans to enter wedlock. "I don't know why some people are in such a hurry to see me marrying someone," says the 'Minnalae' and 'Aayirathil Oruvan' actress.
 
"If at all I am getting married, I would promptly inform everyone, especially the media. I have no reason to enter wedlock in a secret manner," Reemma said, rubbishing reports that she would soon marry her 'boyfriend'.
 
The actress has also denied rumours that she walked out of a Telugu film with Jagapati Babu, unhappy with the script. "I was unable to be part of that project since I was busy with another film," she said.
 
Recently, Reemma was in the news after her award winning Bengali movie 'Iti Srikantha' was dubbed in Tamil as 'Ilavarasi'. The actress condemned the film being branded under soft-porn genre and said that it was an art film.

'Irandam Ulagam' is a bilingual?

This time, Selvaraghavan is not ready to take a break post the release of 'Mayakamm Enna', the Dhanush starrer. The director will immediately start his next project, which has been titled 'Irandam Ulagam' as earlier reported.
 
Please note it was said that 'Irandam Ulagam' was the title of the Dhanush-Richa Gangopadhyay movie directed by Selvaraghavan. However the director cleared the air by officially revealing the film's title, that is, 'Mayakkam Enna'.Now that the film is ready for a release, Selvaraghavan has announced that his next movie would be 'Irandam Ulagam', which would have Arya and Anushka in lead roles.

Now the latest buzz is that the movie is touted to be a bilingual, to be simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu.

Meanwhile, arrangements are being made for the audio launch of 'Mayakkam Enna', which is scheduled to take place in Chennai soon. Both Selva and Dhanush are happy to work with each other after a long gap.

Details on AR Murugadoss and Vijay project

vijay’s film to be directed by AR Murugadoss is taking shape despite the director busy with 7aam Arivu’s audio launch and movie release. The latest we hear on this project from sources in Kollywood is that the director of photography for the Vijay-starrer will be Santhosh Sivan.
Grapevine has it that Harris Jayaraj may be the music director for this flick but this has not been finalized as yet. With AR Murugadoss completing 7aam Arivu and Vijay free of Nanban, we can expect an announcement on their project soon.

Is it Ajith and Silambarasan this time?

The buzz that is going on in Kollywood is that Venkat Prabhu may direct Ajith and Silambarasan next. Though the director has said that nothing has been confirmed till now, we are told that the initial talks are going on. Meanwhile, producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri, who had produced Mankatha, has said he is not aware of this project.
When enquired about who the potential producer of this biggie, we heard that Reliance Big Entertainment and producer AM Rathnam are interested in producing the film.
It is worth mentioning here that Silambarasan is an Ajith fan and makes sure that the star’s name features in most of his films at least once.

Suriya's heroine condemns ban

Suriya's Vaaranam Aayiram heroine, Divya Spandana has gone on record to condemn the 3 year ban against actress Nikita, of Saroja fame from the Kannada film industry. Divya was incensed as she felt that it was terribly unfair. She said that heroines make an easy target for movie bigwigs who enjoy showing off their power in this manner and at the expense of some poor defenseless heroine. Nobody dares to treat heroes like this, she fumed.
Actress Nikita was slapped with the ban because it was felt that she had disrupted the family life of actor Dharshan. Divya wanted to know why only Nikita had been pulled up because even if reports of their alleged affair (no proof has been offered according to Nikita) were true then both parties should face the consequences and not just the actress.

Rajini’s family oppose Salman’s move?

Sources in Bollywood say that Salman Khan may star in a biopic on Rajinikanth and this film will be produced by Atul Agnihotri. But it looks like Rajini’s family is not too happy with the idea and they have said that the producer has not approached them for permission to make film on Rajini till now.
It is said that this biopic will begin with Rajini’s early days as a bus conductor and move on to his rise to stardom. Sources in Kollywood say that it is still uncertain if Rajini’s family would agree to the biopic, even if the producer seeks their permission.

Anushka Now Walks Away From Kamal Haasan movie Viswaroopam

The latest news is that actress Anushka has refused to act in the next film of Kamal that is going to be titles as “Viswaroopam”. This role was first offered to Sonakshi Sinha, who apparently declined the offer and now Anushka has repeated the same. She has done this in a very polite way. She has declined from this offer as her dates are clashing with of the other films, one being “Damarukam” she has signed where she would be acting with Nagarjuna in the film. The shooting for that film is all set to begin. Looks like things are not going in favor of Kamalahaasan this time. This film Viswaroopam has too many issues. It was Selvaraghavan who quit initially from directing this movie as there were many  of opinion between him and Kamal. Kamal Haasan will now be directing this film. Due to all these problems the shooting of the film was delayed.The shooting of this film commenced some time back and some portions where  Kamal is acting has been shot. The shoot happened .  Amy Jackson who acted in the film Madrasapattinam is also playing an important role in this film. The heroine for this film is yet to be finalized. Except the heroine for this film all other things fall in place at the moment.Sonakshi Sinha was signed for this film initially but she refused as the shoot was getting delayed. The exact reason why actress anushka has not agreed to act in this film is not known. Viswaroobam team was further irritated with Anushka because she has given a reason that her dates with anothe is clashing with this. That film is supposedly going to be directed by Selva raghavan who had difference of opinion with Kamal and walked away from this film. We are hearing that the team is now approaching actress Sameera Reddy for her call sheet. It is also difficult to forget that Anushka was in news for pairing with Kamal Haasan in the film Viswaroobam some time back but the latest news has shocked the team of ‘Viswaroobam’ and all the Tamil film fans.

Aamir Khan enquires about Suriya

Cinematographer Ravi K Chandran has said that he had met Bollywood star Aamir Khan recently and the star enquired about AR Murugadoss’s 7aam Arivu and Suriya’s role in the film.
7aam Arivu is a Sci-fi thriller, which stars Suriya and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles with Ravi K Chandran handling the camera. Aamir Khan’s interest in the film has raised an expectation that he may want to remake the film and star in it too.
It may be mentioned here that Aamir Khan had starred in Ghajini, which was remade by AR Murugadoss in Hindi. Interestingly, Suriya had played the lead role in the Tamil version of Ghajini.

Rajini and Kamal's daughters work together

Aishwarya Dhanush is making her directorial debut with 3 starring hubby Dhanush and Shruti Haasan. The two ladies have known each other since childhood. The shooting for the film is happening in Chennai and important scenes with Dhanush and Shruti are being filmed.
Shruti was full of praise for Aishwarya and said that everything is organized and it is a pleasure to work with such a good team. Aishwarya was equally appreciative of Shruti and said that she always knew that Shruti will be a big star one day. Vidya Balan’s popularity in the Tamil film industry is soaring high following her role as the late Silk Smitha in the Hindi film The Dirty Picture. In this film, she plays the late glam doll Silk Smitha and movie buffs are eager to see her performance in it.
Sensing that Vidya Balan has a huge market in Tamil Nadu and can have the cash registers ringing, several producers in Kollywood are vying to sign her up. But Vidya Balan has no time for Tamil movies as she has a line-up of Hindi flicks to be produced by prestigious production houses in Bollywood, sources say.

Nikitha, who has been banned by the Kannada Film Producers Association (KFPA) for her alleged relationship with actor Darshan which resulted in a storm in his family, has slammed the producers' association's decision.
 
Talking to journalists, a furious Nikitha said, "The KFPA need not ban me. Let it give me proof about an affair with Darshan." I will voluntarily walk out of the Kannada film industry. The actress said the decision has spoiled her image.
 
"I think this has been the most hurting decision. What mistake have I committed to undergo such harsh punishments?" she said and added: "I just returned from Mumbai only this morning after completing a modeling assignment. I was shocked."
 
Leading Kannada actor Darshan was arrested by the Police in the early hours of Friday for allegedly beating up his wife Vijayalakshmi and threatening her with a revolver. Vijayalakshmi had named Nikitha in her police complaint against her husband, which she later withdrew in front of the metropolitan magistrate.

'Muran's Road to success

The Tamil film loving audience saw a lot of roads on screen last in Linguswamy-directed 'Paiyaa.' Rajjan Madhav�s upcoming flick 'Muran,' which sees Cheran and Prasanna in the lead roles, is all set to hit theatres across the state on September 23. Most of this film has been shot from the Chennai-Bangalore highway. 'Muran' which has been inspired from the Hollywood classic film 'Strangers On A Train' has a lot of scenes canning highways and is a thriller.

The film also has a lot of other aspects like romance and comedy despite it being a thriller film. More than fifty percent of the film was done with director Cheran producing the film, and UTV moved in to produce the rest. Despite the crew facing some glitches during commencement, as the filmMusic for the film is by Sajjan Madhav, the director's twin. The music album which released recently is doing a good run at the music charts. There are a total of five music tracks, which is inclusive of a promotional song. 'Muran' is Rajjan Madhav's first film as director. He used to assist director Mysskin earlier.
 'Muran' sees Cheran and Prasanna in key roles with Haripriya, Suma Bhattacharya and Nikita as the lead females. progressed everything took a smooth turn for the better.

'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' a trilingual

This Gautham Menon offing has been a news maker right from the day the first look posters of this film released. The film, like his previous love story 'Vinnaithaandi Vaaruvaaya,' is touted to release right in time for the Valentine's Day season during February 2012, as an ode to lovers. Starring Jiiva and Samantha in the lead 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' will be a romantic comedy as per the director.

When all had imagined that the film will release in two languages Tamil and Telugu, the director recently is reported to have confirmed that the film will be a trilingual and will simultaneously have a Hindi release too. Sources also reveal that the director has roped in Aditya Roy Kapur to play the lead for the Hindi version.Samantha seems to have really impressed Gautham, who is a master at directing love themes. He is so impressed with the pretty actress that he is believed to have retained her to play the lead lady in all his three versions, reveal sources!

While Simbu's look got a new lease of life with 'Vinnaithaandi Vaaruvaaya,' the same seems to have happened to Jiiva who is sporting a new look in the first look posters of 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham.' One more added addition to the film will be the comedy spills from Santhanam, who will also have a good share of screen space in this film.

Talks on for 'Mankatha' sequel?

Director Venkat Prabhu has undoubtedly hit the bull's eye with his 'Mankatha' and the film is having a roaring run at the box office. While there were initial doubts whether the film would be a hit because of the hero donning a complete negative role, all that doubts were quashed from the moment 'Mankatha' was released.

Now post the huge moolah that Mankatha is raking in at the box office, the core team involved in the making of the film has met and is discussing about doing a sequel, reveal sources in the know. Neither the director nor the producer has commented in the affirmative regarding this, but well-placed sources have revealed that there might be a sequel on the cards.It is a known fact that Venkat Prabhu had a different script for 'Mankatha' before Ajith came on board and the script was modified to suit thala; now that 'Mankatha' is a massive hit the director is planning to put to use his prior script too. There are also talks going around the Tamil film circles that Ajith has given his priority dates to Venkat Prabhu.

Thala is busy with his sequel or rather pre-quel of Billa titled 'Billa 2' which is being directed by Chakri Toleti. It is just a matter of time, when after completing his part in 'Billa 2' Ajith might get back to his 'Mankatha' pack, we never know!

Vijay's next with Murugadoss to kick start soon

Already when two of his highly expected films are readying for release, Ilayathalapathy is all set to don grease paint for his next film, which will be with AR Murugadoss. Though the project has not been titled yet, the director is roping in the best of the cast and crew for his film with Vijay.

Just a couple of weeks back tabloids were brimming with the news about the next hottest dame in the Tamil film industry, Angela Johnson, who would be debuting as a heroine, as Vijays arm candy, in this Murugadoss film. Well recently, a photo shoot took place involving Vijay and Angela in the city with ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan canning the shoots.

It looks like Murugadoss is absolutely happy with the results of the photo shoot, and is doing everything under his power to keep his new find (Angela Johnson) low-profile. Sources close to people associated with this project reveal that Harris Jayaraj might be roped in to tune songs for this film, though nothing on this regard has been confirmed yet.. The flick will be produced by Vijay's home productions banner under his father SAC along with Aascar Ravichandran.

The top brass of this upcoming venture will soon meet the press to confirm about the cast and crew as well as to divulge information regarding about the project.

Mayakkam Enna' is youthful

Dhanush has bagged the coveted National Award from the president. The actor's upcoming film is 'Mayakkam Enna' under brother Selvaraghavan's directon. IG recently revealed the first look of 'Mayakkam Enna' which seems like a film celebrating youth. There is a lot of hype surrounding the film more so because it is a brian child of Selvaraghavan.

The film stars Dhanush and Richa Gangopadhyay in the lead roles. While Dhanush looks his boyish best, his heroine Richa is feminity personified and pretty. But there seems to be some confusion with the film buffs regarding the script, which many think, is a modification of 'Irandam Ulagham.'Selveraghavan recently came out to clear the air regarding this mix up. He has clearly stated that the Dhanush - Richa starrer 'Mayakkam Enna' is a different script. The director has revealed that the script is not entirely a love story and will be appreciated by the youth.

The music for this film is by GV Prakash Kumar, and Selva is confident that the music of 'Mayakkam Enna' will be a hit at the music charts. Dhanush is simultaneously working with wife Aishwarya in her debut film as director '3' which sees Dhanush and Shruti Haasan as the lead pair.

Nadigar Sangam hikes financial aid

The South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA), popularly known as Nadigar Sangam, has announced a hike in the financial aid given to the wards of its members, to meet their educational expenses.

A decision in this regard was taken at the general council of the association, which met in Chennai on Sunday. Chaired by president R Sarath Kumar, the meeting was attended by hundreds of members from various parts of the State.

Speaking to reporters, Sarath said, "The Rs 2,000 assistance which was given from LKG to fifth standard has been increased to Rs 2,500. From sixth to class ten, wards of our members will get Rs 3,000. For those studying Plus One and Plus Two, the aid has been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000." Sarath added that Rs 7,000 will be given for higher studies.Various resolutions were passed at the meeting that included conveying the association's heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for her success in the recently-concluded Assembly elections in Tamilnadu besides wishing good luck to DMDK president and former president of Nadigar Sangam Vijayakanth and Sarathkumar, who has been elected an MLA.

On the vexatious wage revision issue raised by FEFSI members which has led to a crisis in the Tamil film industry, threatening to stall shootings, the Nadigar Sangam urged the bodies concerned to hold talks and arrive at an amicable solution.

SAC against corruption in TFPC

The president in-charge of Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) S A Chandrasekaran said on Sunday that evidence against those indulged in malpractice in the Council would be given to the Chennai City Police Commissioner.

Speaking after a special meeting of the TFPC in Chennai, he said that many members had leveled allegations that rampant corruption had taken place in the Council in the past. "We have decided to collect the proof and to hand over it to the police," he said.

Chandrasekaran said that it has been decided at the meeting that those facing corruption charges should not contest in the fast approaching elections to the Tamil Film Producers Council, which is scheduled for October 9.

Also, popular producer Ebrahim Rowthar has been selected unanimously at the meeting as the election officer. "Various other issues concerning the interests of our members were discussed at the meeting," SAC added.

'Aayiram Vilakku' hits the screens on 23rd Septembe

Director S. P. Hosimin in his second venture 'Aayiram Vilakku' promises loads of action and drama, especially when two distinct actors like Sathyaraj and Shanthnoo are sharing the screen space. Also sizzler Sana Khan featuring as simple girl-next-door character only adds more substance to the movie.

While we have been fed on its promos and trailers for sometime, the wait finally is over and one can just look forward to the movie's release this month. According to our reports, 'Aayiram Vilakku' will be releasing on 23rd September.

Vivek says no to sobriquet

Vivek has rejected a request from an organisation which came forward to honour him with the sobriquet 'Pasumai Nayagan', after getting impressed with his efforts to create a green cover by planting trees.

"Based on the instructions from former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, I have initiated a movement to plant trees all over the State, under the name 'Green Kalam'. Over six lakhs saplings have been planted so far,' says Vivek.

"A special task force has been also set up to monitor whether the plants are maintained properly or not. This is to create a better future for the future generation and to ensure that global warming doesn't affect them," he adds.

"Impressed by all these activities, an organisation recently approached me saying it would like to honour me with Pasumai Nayagan title. I politely turned down its request. I am content with two of the honours- Padmashri by the Central government and Janangalin Kalaignan by the people."
