Two seperate cases have been filed against Kushboo from Andipatti and Palanichettipatti for allegedly violating the law during the elections. Aa a DMK member, she had campaigned for the party. She has been accused of failing to obtain permission from proper authorities and election officials while campaigning in Andipatti and for disturbing the public. The actress applied for anticipatory bail claiming that the case is false. Justice R Mala of the Madurai High Court has denied her appeal.
In the Palanichettipatti case, the actress was accused of violating the model code of conduct but in this case she has been granted bail. Kushboo has maintained that she was merely campaigning for the political party she belongs to and has done nothing against the law.
