Director Vasanthabalan who had directed Angaadi Theru is now directing a film titled Aravaan. Anjali is also acting in this film. Aadhi who had acted in the film Mirugam and Eeram is donning the lead role. Tanshika is pairing with him. This film which has a historical background is being produced by T Shiva under the banner Amma Creations. Bharath is donning another hero role which is meatier. Swetha Menon is donning the role of a prostitute. Through this film, Kabir Bedi who is a Bollywood and Hollywood actor is debuting in Tamil for the first time. Pasupathi and Archana Kavi are also starring in this film.
Anjali is also making a special appearance in this multi starred film. Anjali before Angaadi Theru was donning small roles. But it was Vasanthabalan who made her big through his film Angaadi Theru. When Vasanthabalan approached her for the special appearance role, Anjali readily gave her nod in order to show her gratitude to her mentor.
