'Kumki' is like 'Titanic': Prabhu Solomon

"A gigantic ship may form the background of Titanic, but it is a love story. Likewise, elephants form a major role in Kumki. However, it is a beautiful love story which deals with a young man and woman who love jumbos," says director Prabhu Solomon.

Happy and proud that he is directing the debut acting venture of 'Nadigar Thilakam' Sivaji Ganesan's grandson Vikram Prabhu, the 'Mynaa' maker says, "Despite being a foreign return, Vikram understands the nuances of Tamil cinema well. Perhaps a quality that he inherited from his grandfather and father (Prabhu)."

Expressing his admiration for elephants, Prabhu Solomon says, "I can now write a book on elephants. I have done intense research on jumbos and realized that they are like human beings, with lots of emotions, intelligence, love, anger and so many things."

On the film's producer Lingusamy, he says, "The project is expensive since it is being fully shot in deep jungles. A producer who wants nothing but a quality output, Lingusamy hardly ever questioned me about the budget and is providing whatever is demanded by me. He is a great producer to work with."
