What's next for Vimal?

Happy with the good reviews to his last (week's) outing 'Vaagai Sooda Vaa', Vimal has signed a new film. To be produced by S Nandagopal, who earlier funded projects like 'Machakaran', 'Newtonin Moondram Vidhi' and 'Kalaba Kadhalan', the film will be directed by R Ravi, a former associate to Mysskin.
Interestingly, Deepa Shah, who played a crucial role in Mysskin's 'Yudhdham Sei', will play Vimal's love interest in this movie, which is said to be a romantic entertainer. Cinematography is by Rajesh Yadav, music by Faizal, lyrics by Viveka.
"The movie will be shot in and around Chennai. The director is looking out for an apt title and would zero in on one at the earliest. Vimal was thoroughly impressed with the story narrated by Ravi and immediately agreed to be part of the film," say sources.
Vimal, who was hitherto known for playing a rural youth in almost all his movies, is getting a makeover in 'Ishtam', a remake of Telugu hit 'Yemaindhi Ee Vela'. He is apparently continuing it with this Ravi-directed film, which too is set in the city.
